Birthday Party Options
Little Buddies
- One enclosure
- Up to 10 children
There are chairs around the edges so the children and sit down to safely hold the animals.
The smaller animals stay in their travel boxes, and we take them out for the children to hold for patting and feeding. Baby rabbits (when available) and guinea pigs are given out in little tins for the children to hold. Chicks are wrapped in little towels.
We find the children can be a little apprehensive if we let all the animals out all at once at the beginning, so we bring out the animals in stages. We’ll let the children sit and hold the small animals for a little while, and bring out the duck/s. Then after a little while we’ll let out the chickens. At some parties we end up with everything out and running about at the same time but at some parties we must do one set at a time as some groups are more overwhelmed. We adjust to what suits the group we are with.

Handling Rabbits - More Info
When we don’t have baby rabbits, we bring older rabbits. We set up a small enclosure on the ground for them to run around in. Two children at one time can sit in this enclosure with the rabbits so they can pat and feed them but not pick them up. This is for the children’s safety and the rabbit’s wellbeing.
